I am finally back after a longer than intended break. Just before Christmas, I received a box of fantastic goodies from the kind people at the Konjac Sponge Co. I was given these products to try out over Christmas and the New year to see if I saw any difference in my skin after a few weeks. In the box, there was a face sponge, a shower loofah, moisturiser from BRYT Skincare, a face mask from 7th Heaven and a carton of coconut water from Vita Coco. I was intrigued by the sponges because I was so used to using a face cloth regularly that using a face sponge was something I looked forward to. I had heard good things through other bloggers about these sponges so I couldn’t wait to try it out for myself.
The Face Sponge:
I won’t lie to you guys, from my first use I was sold! I never thought I would be converted to switch from a facecloth to a little hemisphere shaped sponge. I have been using the gentleman’s sponge which is made from 100% vegetable fibre with bamboo charcoal. It was so soft on my skin and wiped all the lather from my face wash away easily. What really sold it to me was when I was suffering from a really bad cold just after Christmas. My skin is usually very dry and sensitive when I get a cold like this. But, thankfully the sponge worked and as I said before it was really soft on my skin and prevented any further redness and dry patches. The sponge can last for up to 3 months depending on how well you look after it. The sponges are available on the Konjac Sponge co. website and vary in prices. I would give this product a 10/10 because it is really well made, it’s easy to store, and lasts for a long time.
The shower sponge:
Again, I was apprehensive about using this as again as it something that wouldn’t be my thing as I have often found loofahs or sponges to be a bit rough or hard on my skin. At the start, I wasn’t overly impressed with the sponge, but the more I used it the more I grew to love it. I found it soft, but it was still rough enough to scrub any dead skin cells leaving my skin feeling soft and smooth. Just like the other sponge, it can last up to 3 months depending on how well the sponge is cared for. These are also available on the Konjac Sponge co. website and also vary in prices. I would give this product 10/10 also because I found it really good on my skin, it’s not as rough as other loofahs and also is also very durable.
Bryt Skincare Moisturiser:
I had never heard of BRYT skincare before I had received the parcel, but I will say I say I was very impressed with the product. It comes in a very compact bottle with a pump for dispensing. I found that I didn’t need to use a lot of product, which is good for me as I usually have to use a bit extra due to my beard. The amount that comes out in one pump is always sufficient. This product retails at £17.00 which is very affordable. I found this moisturiser dries quickly and didn’t leave my skin feeling greasy. I would give this product a 9/10. The only flaw I can find is that I cannot find this product in Ireland at the moment.
7th Heaven Seaweed Face Mask
Like most of the products, this was a step into the unknown, but I said why not give it a go. I followed everything that was on the packaging and was left with a light layer of black paste on my face. I did expect it to be thicker as this is a peel off mask. I left it on for the 20-25 minutes as stated. I found it to be tight around my face, but I expected that, because if you leave any paste on for that length of time, I would expect it to harden. I wasn’t able to peel off the mask as it was too thin. It did, however, leave my skin feeling refreshed so that was a major plus! I would give this product a 7/10 out of ten. This is because I expected better coverage from the mask as it said it was a peel off mask. This could also have been I didn’t apply it properly, but with one mask it is hard to tell what the cause of this was.
I also received a carton of Vita Coco coconut water and I must say it was very tasty. I was already a big fan of Vita Coco before I received this parcel so I was only delighted to see it arrive with the other items.
So have you guys tried any of these products before? If not, would you buy any based on this review? Let me know in the comments below.
* I was not paid to write this blog post. I received this parcel from the Konjac Sponge company and I was asked to write a blog post in return reviewing all of these products. All opinions are my own and I was in no way influenced by the supplier.
