Everywhere we look there is always some inspiration to help us find a great outfit. Mine came recently when I was watching the Bahrain GP last Sunday. It was when the interviews on the podium were taking place and out came ex-f1 driver David Coulthard in a rather dapper outfit. When watching F1 in recent seasons I always found David to be one of the best analysts/commentators on tv. So I thought who better to base the latest get the look post on, than F1’s very own Dapper Dave.
I was impressed with the outfit straight away, I just thought it was such a simple outfit to put together. The colours really work well together and they can all be used as separates also.
First up, we have the blue blazer, a staple in any stylish man’s wardrobe. Now as I mentioned earlier that the Grand Prix was in Bahrain, so I can only assume that it was a linen blazer due to the climate. I have picked a linen-cotton blend blazer by the aptly named brand Racing Green from Debenhams. This is a perfect choice for our climate as it is light enough when the weather does get warm and it won’t crease too easily. This blazer is available for €144 in the current blue cross sale.
Next, is the pink and white check shirt. A check shirt is another must have for any gents wardrobe. This pink and white shirt from TM Lewin is perfect and it compliments the blazer really well. This comes in a slim fit and it is priced at €46. These shirts come from Jermyn Street in London, which is the home of shirt making. Where else would you think of getting it!
Now, I know not everyone is going to be brave enough for the white trousers, so I have included a navy pair for those of you who don’t want to stand out but still look good at the same time. The white pair come from Maine New England at Debenhams. These are priced at €32 and come in a tailored fit.I find the white trousers add a nice Mediterranean vibe to the outfit. Now the safety net. These navy chinos from Burton are priced at €22 and come in a slim fit. I have bought chinos from Burton before and I found them to be extremely comfortable even in a slim fit.
Now, while I didn’t get a glimpse of Mr. Coulthards choice in footwear, I have chosen two options that I think would go really well with this outfit. First up, is a classic pair of brown oxfords. This pair comes from Zara and retail at €69.95. Again these are a must have in any stylish man’s wardrobe. To add more texture to the outfit I have chosen these navy suede loafers from River Island as an alternative to the brown oxfords. These are priced at €65 so they will not hurt your pocket too much!
So, what did you guys think of the outfit? Would you wear it or something similar? Let me know what you think in the comments below.
