When working with brands/clients in blogging, It’s always best to work with one that shares the same values as your own. When I was approached recently to write about Canali’s online collection, I wondered what did a high-end Italian tailoring brand and Dapper Dave Cash in common? Then it clicked with me, Canali’s Impeccabile collection is where our values match. (more…)
I was asked recently by the guys at TM Lewin to style a look that will take you from the office to having drinks with your work mates that evening, hence the name Fit for Friday! I know a lot of workplaces tend to have a casual Friday dress code and this does tend to cause a lot of problems because a lot of people do tend to take the word casual to the extreme! i.e jeans and trainers. The pieces I have put together will have you gents looking smart for work, but also good enough for any dress code for any pub that you and your workmates visit on a Friday after work. All of the pieces in this post not only work well together but are staples in any stylish man’s wardrobe. First up is the Harrison Herringbone Jacket in navy/blue is a really versatile piece. This would look really smart at work or any occasion that requires a smart dress code. At £149/€195, it is quite affordable and made of fine materials, therefore, should last you for a really long time.
If you work in a stuffy office, you are not going to be wearing your blazer or
suit all day, so underneath I have added the Burnham Navy Cardigan to maintain that smart look throughout the day. This is again very affordable at £55/€69 and the quality is second to none. It is made of merino wool so it light and breathable, which is perfect for a warm office and pub.
Staying away from the classic white shirt, I thought this blue gingham shirt in slim fit is a great alternative and really fits in with the blue theme for the top half of this outfit. At £39.95/€52, it is a bargain as it comes from Jermyn Street, the home of shirt making and it is also non-iron which is a bonus.
Next up, we have a pair of Cassidy camel chinos, which go really well with the other colours in this outfit and are a classic menswear item. They are also a steal at £44.95/€59, but can be bought for less if you buy them from one of the many deals on the TM Lewin website.
Finally, we come to the shoes. Now they say shoes make or break an outfit, well these Farthing tan brogues add a nice finishing touch. At £89/ €134 they are slightly more expensive than their competitors, but shoes are something worth investing in.
I hope you guys enjoyed this post. What did you think of the outfit? Would you wear it on casual Friday? Let me know in the comments below.
I was recently sent this fantastic bow tie by the people at My Kind of Tie for a style post. I was sent the London floral bow tie. It looks pink, but that is the effect that is given off from the red and white silk woven together to make the bow tie. The blue flowers compliment either colour so it is a winner either way! The bow tie retails at €15 and there is free next day delivery to Irish customers. Given that the bow tie is called London, I decided that a dapper London look would be best for this post. The venue I chose for this shoot was the fabulous Faithlegg House Hotel in Faithlegg, Co.Waterford which is a short drive from where I live. I thought it was the perfect setting as the grounds look beautiful in autumn and the interior has a high-class feel that you would expect from any venue of it’s stature.
