That time of year is finally upon us again, yes it’s Valentines Day. Love it or hate it, love is in the air this time of year. It gives people the chance to show the one they love, how much they appreciate them (I hope it’s not the only time of year they do it!). While the girls get flowers, chocolates and other gifts such as jewellery, the poor guys always seem to be hard to buy for. I am going to show you some great gift ideas to give to the man in your life this Valentines Day. (more…)
For once, I am somewhat organized this year when it comes to my Christmas shopping, but for one reason or another, I always seem to leave one or two things to the last minute. I am going to share some great gift ideas for the men in your life if you’re heading in for some last minute shopping. A lot of these are items that I have either bought or used myself and that I highly recommend.
Johnny’s Chop Shop Grooming Range
I came across these products during the summer in my local boots, The packaging intrigued me and the retro feel made me want to try it out. I have to say that I was really impressed with it. I have tried out more products from the range since then and there is something for everyone. Products include shaving foam, dry shampoo, hair pomade, beard oil etc. Everything you need to bring a touch of 50’s cool to your look. The Johnny’s Chop Shop range is available from Boots nationwide and online and independent pharmacies around Ireland with prices starting from €6.99. My advice would be to buy a number of the products and make a little hamper just to make it stand out a bit more.
Mr. Jenks Pocket Squares
I won’t lie I am a big fan of this brand, the main reasons being that firstly, the designs on their pocket squares really stand out. They stock some fabulous designs that would make any suit stand out. This is perfect for an outfit for a day at the races, party season or just because you want to spruce up your blazer for a night out with a special someone. The quality is second to none and they are really affordable at €29.99. I own 3 of them myself and they have received loads of compliments when I have worn them. Two of my personal favorites are these:
The reason I love these two is because the Ireland in bloom one on the left is the perfect gift for someone who loves their country and is ideal for someone returning home from abroad for christmas. The pink diamond one on the right I am quite fond of because I featured it as part of a get the look feature I recently did for Xposé Ultimate Weddings. Mr. Jenks pocket squares are available at www.mrjenks.com and selected menwear stores across Ireland and the U.K. If you’re ordering online make sure to purchase by midnight on the 20th to ensure your pocket square arrives on time.
Louis Copeland & Son Shirts
Now, this is slightly more expensive for a last minute present, but if your man likes his style, then he is going to love this present. I bought my first Louis Copeland shirt in the summer and I loved it so much that I bought myself a second one as an early christmas present! Again you are paying for quality, but the one thing I love about it is the fit. It is extremely comfortable and I can guarantee if you’re comfortable in your clothes it is going make you feel good and look good. These shirts are available in all six Louis Copeland stores and online at www.louiscopeland.com
I know that was short and sweet, but I feel these little gifts are perfect for those in a rush, but don’t want to give a rubbish present. I hope this guide has been of help to you and that you find the ideal gift for your loved ones.
Everywhere we look there is always some inspiration to help us find a great outfit. Mine came recently when I was watching the Bahrain GP last Sunday. It was when the interviews on the podium were taking place and out came ex-f1 driver David Coulthard in a rather dapper outfit. When watching F1 in recent seasons I always found David to be one of the best analysts/commentators on tv. So I thought who better to base the latest get the look post on, than F1’s very own Dapper Dave. (more…)
