Bomber Jackets: Spring/Summer Essential

Hi Guys,

It’s hard to believe that this post is nearly a year old and is still my most popular post! Seeing as we have a range of bomber jackets this Spring/Summer, I decided I would update this post. My inspiration still comes from last year’s MTV Movie Awards. Bomber Jackets and Sneakers were the main menswear talking points. We saw Miles Teller and Zac Efron rocking the Bomber looking both cool and casual at the awards.

Seeing how versatile this jacket is, I decided to browse online and pick my favourites from the High Street.

This pink bomber jacket from River Island is perfect for this time of year. I love the detail, it gives off a nice biker feel to it. The colour is also great for Spring/Summer so it’s perfect for a night on the town. I would pair this with a white polo shirt and dark wash slim fit denim. Add a pair of navy desert boots to smarten up the look.

This beauty was my top pick from the recent Boohoo press day. I purchased it within days of seeing it. I wore this on a recent night out and teamed it with a navy t-shirt, burgundy chinos and a pair of trainers I picked up in Primark recently. I felt that the combination worked well and I know that the jacket can also be used for a smarter look.

This Navy number from Burton is more on the smarter side of things. I would pair this with a white shirt and navy tailored trousers. I would add some black Chelsea boots to finish it off.

This satin Bomber from Mango would be a great addition to any stylish man’s wardrobe. The colour just makes it so versatile. Just think about it, you can dress like Ryan Gosling from Drive for just €89.95! This would be a timeless piece that will be used again and again.

This one from Bershka is a real bargain at €35.99. As in the picture, I would pair it would wear it with a check shirt and jeans because of the casual nature of the jacket. Also, another major plus point is that black doesn’t go out of fashion, so it will be a piece that will last season after season!

I really love this one from Topman. I won’t lie it was the Teal colour that immediately drew me to it. It really stands out! So I would recommend this as one of your statement pieces for the upcoming season.

Pull and Bear €40

Finally, we have this tan faux suede Bomber from Pull and Bear. I really liked it when I saw it recently and I’m really sorry I left it behind. It is also a bargain at €40. I really hope it is still there next time I pop in. http://www.pullandbear.com/ie/en/suede-effect-bomber-jacket-c0p100036938.html

Penneys also have a great range of bomber jackets this spring/summer.

It is considered their IT jacket for this season, make sure and check out Primark.ie to check when they are available and are priced between €18 and €28. Would it be wrong not to buy one for that price? Wouldn’t it? Of course, it would! I expect these to fly off the shelves so act fast!

I really hope you enjoyed the post and that you pick yourself up a bargain or two!

Boohoo.com S/S15 Preview

Hi Guys,

I was invited to attend the Boohoo.com press preview for their S/S15 collection on Tuesday. The event was held in the Morrison Hotel on Ormond Quay in Dublin. It is a really stylish hotel and Burrell PR did a great job with the event. I didn’t know what to expect as it was my first press event but I was greeted by the lovely Leah from Burrell PR who showed me around and presented me with a goody bag and a drink from the drinks reception always a nice way to start an event! There was 2 rails for the mens collection it didn’t look like much but there was a lot of key pieces within that small space.

Many of the pieces I had already seen on both the website and the recent TV adverts. I found many pieces that I liked as I never imagined Boohoo  sold classic or dapper pieces but I was pleasantly surprised. There was quite a few and also many trend inspired pieces. All the pieces were inspired by the city of Manchester, this is where Boohoo.com is based.

This knitted bomber jacket was one item that caught my eye prior to the event and I fell even more in love with it as it was exactly as it was described on the website, which isn’t always the case when buying online.

There was many other items that caught my eye and here they are for you to shop til you drop.

But the one item that I hadn’t noticed at first but was brought to my attention by one of the Boohoo reps was this Suedette Bomber Jacket. Everytime I went back to the rails I was automatically drawn to it. It is definitely on my must buy list especially when there was a €50 gift card in the goody bag. This was a very generous thing to do especially when it was already a privilege to check out this seasons collection.

Overall it was a good event and it was very well run and I hopefully look forward to attending another event like it in the near future, good job Burrell PR and Boohoo!!

All these great items can be found at Boohoo.com

Hope you enjoy!!

Get the Look: Lewis Hamilton

Hi guys!

I recently posted this picture of Lewis Hamilton at an IWC launch recently.

nico&lewis

I thought it was a great smart casual look. The tan shawl jumper is a real trans seasonal piece and the colour is an all year round wardrobe staple. Here are some pieces that will help you achieve this look in two different ways. I based the outfit around the Jumper as it was the stand out piece for me in the outfit. In look 1 I copied  what Lewis wore and teamed it with a white shirt, I added a pair of slim fit dark wash jeans and Chelsea boots from RIver Island to complete the look. For look 2 I changed it to a cardigan and added a navy shirt and chinos with a pair of chocolate brown desert boots to make it more casual.

Well guys I hope this helps you! Happy shopping and feel free to leave feedback if you liked or didn’t like anything.
