Christmas Gift Guide- Men’s Edit

For once, I am somewhat organized this year when it comes to my Christmas shopping, but for one reason or another, I always seem to leave one or two things to the last minute. I am going to share some great gift ideas for the men in your life if you’re heading in for some last minute shopping. A lot of these are items that I have either bought or used myself and that I highly recommend.

Johnny’s Chop Shop Grooming Range

I came across these products during the summer in my local boots, The packaging intrigued me and the retro feel made me want to try it out. I have to say that I was really impressed with it. I have tried out more products from the range since then and there is something for everyone. Products include shaving foam, dry shampoo, hair pomade, beard oil etc. Everything you need to bring a touch of 50’s cool to your look. The Johnny’s Chop Shop range is available from Boots nationwide and online and independent pharmacies around Ireland with prices starting from €6.99. My advice would be to buy a number of the products and make a little hamper just to make it stand out a bit more.

Mr. Jenks Pocket Squares

I won’t lie I am a big fan of this brand, the main reasons being that firstly, the designs on their pocket squares really stand out. They stock some fabulous designs that would make any suit stand out. This is perfect for an outfit for a day at the races, party season or just because you want to spruce up your blazer for a night out with a special someone. The quality is second to none and they are really affordable at €29.99. I own 3 of them myself and they have received loads of compliments when I have worn them. Two of my personal favorites are these:

The reason I love these two is because the Ireland in bloom one on the left is the perfect gift for someone who loves their country and is ideal for someone returning home from abroad for christmas. The pink diamond one on the right I am quite fond of because I featured it as part of a get the look feature I recently did for Xposé Ultimate Weddings. Mr. Jenks pocket squares are available at and selected menwear stores across Ireland and the U.K. If you’re ordering online make sure to purchase by midnight on the 20th to ensure your pocket square arrives on time.

Louis Copeland & Son Shirts

Now, this is slightly more expensive for a last minute present, but if your man likes his style, then he is going to love this present. I bought my first Louis Copeland shirt in the summer and I loved it so much that I bought myself a second one as an early christmas present! Again you are paying for quality, but the one thing I love about it is the fit. It is extremely comfortable and I can guarantee if you’re comfortable in your clothes it is going make you feel good and look good. These shirts are available in all six Louis Copeland stores and online at

I know that was short and sweet, but I feel these little gifts are perfect for those in a rush, but don’t want to give a rubbish present. I hope this guide has been of help to you and that you find the ideal gift for your loved ones.

Get the Look: Darren Kennedy

Hi Guys,

We all need a bit of style inspiration every now and then, don’t we? So I thought who better to look to than Irish style guru Darren Kennedy. I am a big fan of Darren’s style, whether he is suited and booted or dressed casually, he is always on point. Darren had some fantastic looks during London Collections:Men back in January. This look in particular really stood out for me as it is a perfect example of how to master layering during winter.  (more…)

Get the Look: Idris Elba

Hi Guys,

We are always told if you feel inspired, strike while the iron is hot!! Well this post couldn’t be more true to that saying. I was scrolling through GQ’s most stylish men of the week section this afternoon when I came across this picture of Idris Elba.

I have always been a big fan of Idris’s style as he tends to look good whether he is suited and booted or running down to the corner shop for a pint of milk. In the picture shown he is attending the Mandela, My Dad and Me premiere.

I really love the nautical pieces in this outfit. The breton stripe jumper is a wardrobe staple and can be paired with almost anything. Its perfect for summer as it is great paired with chinos or shorts for a nice summer time look that is both smart and casual. Pair this with a white t-shirt or polo shirt underneath to keep it smart and simple. This breton beauty from Topman is priced at £32.

According to the River Island website this trench coat is a MUST HAVE! I couldn’t agree more as once again is a classic piece that goes with almost anything and can smarten up the most casual of outfits! The navy colour is very versatile and can be paired with most colours. The coat retails at €95.

Yet again Idris ticks another wardrobe stable box with the tailored black trousers. As mentioned earlier this can be paired with almost anything, making it very versatile. I have always been a fan of trousers from Next. They are always very affordable and of fantastic quality. This pair for €31 are very affordable and wont make a huge hole in your wallet.

Finally we reach the final piece of the jigsaw. These Black leather trainers from Topman are almost identical to the pair Idris is wearing at the premiere. Again these wont put a huge dent in your bank account £45 and are very on point. They add a nice finishing touch to this smart casual outfit.

Hope you enjoyed this post and happy shopping if you plan on buying the outfit or just some of the pieces from it! Feel free to leave feedback and anything you would like to see in future posts!
