Welcome to this weeks installment of Style Stories! This week I will be interviewing Karl Bowe otherwise known as Mr Ireland 2014! The first time I saw Karl was at the Bride of the Year show back in January when he had the pleasure of escorting the Mother of the Brides, who won a makeover on the day of the show! Since then I have had the pleasure of meeting Karl at a number of events recently and I found him to be a really sharp dresser and an all round great guy! Karl is also a model and an actor and I’m sure some of you have seen him on TV3’s Red Rock or ITV’s Take Me Out. I’m now going to let Karl tell his style story. (more…)
As we all know trends come and go, but I want to talk to you about making the rest of the fashion pack green with envy! I have always been a fan of the colour Green. The many different shades of green make it a perfect colour to have all year round, but lets concentrate on Spring/Summer. The versatility of the colour makes it so easy to co-ordinate with base colours such as white, navy and grey. This seasons high street is full of many different shades of green and I am going to bring you my top menswear picks from the wide variety of stores available at Athlone Town Centre this season. There are some great menswear stores in Athlone Town Centreto help you keep your look on trend! All of these items can be worn in a casual manner or can also be smartened up to take you from day to-night. (more…)
Well February is nearly over, so Spring should be well and truly here. Although in Ireland given the current weather you wouldn’t think it! One of the many trends that appears every Spring/Summer is florals. Yes I know florals, how original! This is often seen as a no go area for guys from my past experiences. The reasons usually given are as follows: florals are for girls, florals are only worn by gay guys, the colours are too bright, I’ll attract too much attention etc. Well on my recent travels to Marrakesh I stopped by the large Zara store in the more modern area of the city. I noticed a few items which I think will help solve this problem and prove that florals are for guys too!
If anyone is unsure when trying out a new trend then always start with accessories when doing so. This allows you to try out a trend without being too in your face. These pieces from River Island and Topman should help with this.
If and when you gain confidence from this t-shirts, shirts and maybe even jackets are the best way to show off this trend. Here is another few pieces which wouldn’t look out of place in any stylish man’s wardrobe. All of these items are easily paired with chinos or denim for a smart or casual look.
