Today’s post is one that has been a long time coming but, with my wedding just under four months away, I thought this was the perfect time to write it. Like every wedding, a lot of focus is given to the Bride. Rightly so I think, but I also find little thought is cast to the man she is marrying. He is expected to just put on a suit and scrub up for the big day. (more…)
Sorry for the lack of posts recently but work has been hectic lately!! I have not been asked to write this post by H&M, I just have a big interest in the collection especially when it involves one of my favourite style icons. Last Thursday March 5th David Beckham released his new bodywear collection for H&M, but he was also asked to pick his favourite items from the their Modern Essentials collection. Mr Beckham has always been able to pick his spot when shooting at goal, but he definitely hit the back of the net with his picks with this collection. I will be concentrating on his picks for the Modern Essentials collection even though his bodywear collection is always top-notch and I can vouch for that having bought many pieces from the previous collections.
The collection features many staples that would be found in any stylish man’s wardrobe. Items such as a white shirt, polo shirts, sweatshirts and denim jackets are key items in the collection. The price range for the collection ranges from €7.99 to €59.99 which makes it very affordable and just like his bodywear and fragrance lines affordability has always been a big selling point with David Beckham.
Having seen the collection in the flesh when out shopping at the weekend, I found the products to be of excellent quality and are all really well made considering their price points. I also found that there is something for everyone in this collection regardless of whether you dress conservatively or you are a bit out there with your own style.
Here are my favourite pieces from the collection.
Unfortunately for Irish customers there is no online shop just yet so there are no links provided. But depending on where you live in the world these items could be available online so check them out on http://www.hm.com/ie/modern-essentials-beckham.
Also here is the link for the promo video which was directed by Marc Forster. Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxt-Virtdek

Well it finally arrived, the most anticipated movie of the year Fifty Shades of Grey is here. Now, not that I will be in the queue to watch it, but I found that it would be a good opportunity to look into leading man Jamie Dornan’s fashion past.
Having recently looked at a style file on Jamie on Vogue magazines online site, I found that he has worn some nice outfits, but he has broke many style rules along the way. A lot of the items he wore were baggy, oversized, too long, trousers dragging under shoes etc. This appalled me for a number of reasons.
1. For a guy who had Keira Knightley as his significant other for a number of years. He seriously needed to up his game!
2. Seeing as Jamie is a male model, he would have been given numerous items of clothing that fit him perfectly. This would have given him a better understanding regarding fits and styles. Bet then again I can assume not every model is into fashion.
3. There is no point in working hard for a model physique, if you are not going to compliment it by wearing clothes that fit you properly.
He obviously suffered from the age old complex that still exists in many Irish men. This is that they have to buy clothes that are too big for them.
Yes even I was guilty at one time, but I would rather forget that time period!
Thankfully I was steered in the right direction.
Here are a few examples of what I meant.
However, everyone has a chance to redeem themselves in every aspect of life. Jamie has redeemed himself in my eyes having recently made my best dressed list at many recent award ceremonies. He has upped his style game by wearing properly fitted suits to compliment his model physique.
Here are some examples of Jamie’s recent reform.
Well I hope you enjoyed reading this and for those of you going to the movie I hope that you enjoy that also.
Feel free to leave feedback and check out my other posts.
